Thoduvaanam

Most of the times in life, we wait for some dreams to happen; we pray for that, think of that everyday, rehearse how to react when it happens or when it doesn't..... But when it happens, we are so pre-occupied that we do not enjoy the success to the fullest, we do not wait to feel it in us. We would be worried of another dream or mission or prayer or whatever, to happen and the whole process repeats itself. Satisfaction and saturation in life becomes like a 'thoduvaanam'.

The most obvious example that comes to my mind is our fellow Indians who are settled abroad and really want to come back. I have seen this case with many of my friends, but I also agree this cant be generalized. Initially, when they leave from here, they plan to stay for 3 ro 4 years and take a vow to bring up their kids only in India. But once they settle down there, they get into their own commitments like own house, car, mortage etc and every year they postpone their return. And reality strikes only when their kids loose our cultural and ethnic identity in those multi cultured nations. Some times it becomes too late.

I got a real scare when I read the last line. I am unfortunately one of the Indians abroad yearning to get back home. I should be back soon in Sweet old chingara Chennai. But I hope its not too late.

Cheers

S.C: No, its never too late :) But think over well enough now whether you really want to come back, bcoz if you get the feeling that you could have stayed there for a few more years, then life will become miserable. Think well bf4 taking decision and never go over it again after executing it. Romba advice panna arampichuten :( Bad habit

Princess: Yeah, you have got a good collection. Thanks for visiting.

Satu: Thanks Satu!! You can relate 'thoduvaanam' and 'kanal neer' uvamai;s to many a situations in our life.

Jeevan: Thanks Jeevan. It doesnt move exactly, but do we actually touch sky? Its just a space with collection of gases.

im living outside india, here for education. waitingto come bck to india. its not culture n shit. its simple trade off. do u have enough connections to pull u bck home? for most people, the money holds them bck in foreign lands, and the opportunities. its all about ur goals in life i guess

Ada-Paavi: I know money holds them back there, thats what i meant in my blog. But at one point of time, theres something more than money that matters. May be, 8 out of 10 ppl i know living abroad, feel they have paid a huge price in terms of family life.

'do you have enough connections to pull you back home?'

This question will become a reality hard to digest when your kids ask the same. I understand its goals in life that ties us wherever we are, but we should be in a position to sit back, relax n enjoy the goals acheived, not regret abt the price paid.

Opinion differs Pal :)

Hello Queen..do not know which kingdom you hail from..all the more I stumbled on you while I was googling to find my blog entitled "Thoduvanam" @ senbagadasan.blogpost.com .your posting is thought provoking. ultimately all of us, have to be rooted somewhere but we prosper only on our home soil and flourish.which would be natural.
